Several area students were among the 285 students who received bachelor degrees from Morningside College during the college's 114th spring commencement exercises held Saturday, May 12, 2012.

The students are:

Alison Pick, daughter of Raymond and Lori Pick of Ankeny, Iowa. Pick received a bachelor of arts degree with a major in business administration.

Jeremy Green, son of Dawn Green of Ankeny, Iowa. Green received a bachelor of science degree with majors in business administration and religious studies. He graduated Magna Cum Laude (with great honor) for having a cumulative grade point average of 3.66 or higher.

Morningside College enrolled 2,047 full-time and part-time students for the 2011-12 academic year and welcomes students of all faiths and backgrounds. Morningside offers five bachelor's degrees, including bachelor of arts, bachelor of science, bachelor of music, bachelor of music education, and bachelor of nursing, and a master of arts in teaching career. The college was founded in 1894 by the Methodist Episcopal Church and remains affiliated with the United Methodist Church today.
