The John Deere Des Moines Works Donations Committee presented the Ankeny Area Historical Society with a check for $500 on April 5.
The money will be put towards buying a back-up generator for the museums.
“We are very appreciative of the donation and continued support that we have received from John Deere over the years,” said Rosemary Hutton Taylor of the Ankeny Area Historical Society.
“I was honored to present this donation on behalf of the Des Moines Works to such a noteworthy organization that is committed to sharing and preserving the rich history of this community for generations to come,” said John Teeple, Factory Manager.
