1) Ankeny Cleanup Days Are This Weekend!
Ankeny Cleanup Days — and Tree & Branch Recycling Days — officially kick off today and continue through Sunday. From 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. today and from 12-4 p.m. Sunday, bring your tree branches, limbs and other yard waste to Prairie Ridge Aquatic Center or the Public Works Maintenance Facility for drop-off. 2) Farmer's Market Kicks Off Today
You've likely been waiting all year and now it's back! Today marks the first day of the 2012 season of the Uptown Ankeny Farmer's Market. Get the best in local good and produce today and each Saturday through September. The market runs from 8 a.m.-12 p.m. and is located at 702 S.W. 3rd St.
3) ACA Commencement is This Afternoon
Ankeny Christian Academy's Class of 2012 will graduate today. ACA commencement will be held from 2-4 p.m. in the school's auditorium.
4) On Deck for Tomorrow
Ankeny High School's Class of 2012 will walk across the stage today to receive their diplomas and mark the end of their high school careers. AHS commencement will be held from 1-3:30 p.m. at the Knapp Center, located at 2601 Forest Ave. on the Drake University campus in Des Moines.
5) The Weather
Today will be partly to mostly cloudy and windy with winds out of the south ranging from 20 to 30 mph. The high temperature today should be near 87 degrees. Tonight, expect partly cloudy skies with a chance of scattered thunderstorms, especially overnight. A few storms may be severe. The overnight low should be near 65 degrees.
