Ankeny Sweet Spot Takes 'Topped' Honors in Readers' Choice Contest
After two weeks of voting, we have a winner in our Readers' Choice contest for favorite Ankeny breakfast spot.
When it comes to picking their favorite breakfast spot, Ankeny residents definitely have a sweet tooth.
After two weeks of voting, we have a winner for the best place in Ankeny to start your morning off right. Congratulations to Topped Doughnuts, the winner of our fifth local Readers’ Choice contest.
When the contest closed at noon Sunday, Topped Doughnuts was the clear winner with 60 votes, or 36 percent of the vote. In total, 165 votes were cast over the duration of the contest.
Not only did Topped take away the most amount of votes, but the business’ fans also went the extra mile to leave them a few kind words following their vote.
“I just for the first time tried Topped Donuts and it is AMAZING! I had heard about them since they opened, but I have two food allergic children that make it tough to eat out anywhere and all donuts are off limits in our house. I plan on heading back there over memorial day weekend to sample another while my family is out of town without me!” - Christi McKeag
