Best Grocery Store - As much as I like Hy-Vee, I'm nominating Fareway.

Each store definitely has it's good and bad points. I like Fareway due to the "small town atmosphere" that we yearn for in Ankeny, and seems to be a thing of the past. HyVee is the busiest, with the fastest service and friendliest people. Dahl's has the best facility but, I often wonder when I go in there "Where are the customers?". And, Walmart is a typical Walmart environment - serve yourself and if you have a question for someone, good luck. Target is similar, but a couple of notches ahead of Walmart. And, if we look at another aspect of the grocery store business : the can/bottle redemption center. Fareway doesn't take any of theirs back ( shame ! ) and Dahl's does the best job of keeping their machines operational. Walmart is a total joke and HyVee's machines all need replacing. It is no wonder so many people either toss their cans/bottles in the trash or in the green recycling bins.

I love HyVee! They are SO helpful and I love the fact that they have "snacks" for my kids while I shop-- free cookie, free cheese, etc. Definetly makes grocery shopping with 2 little ones so much easier.
