Woman Facing Multiple Drug Charges Tops Ankeny Police Blotter for May 17

A summary of incident reports with individual charges provided by the Ankeny Police Department.

Dates below are when the incident was reported or occurred, not when an arrest or charges were filed. Charges do not always result in convictions. All individuals listed below are innocent until proven guilty.

Feb. 6

Gregory J. Tate, 32, West Des Moines, was charged with harassment by communication following an incident that occurred in the 500 block of Northwest Chapel Drive.

April 30

Anita M. Thornton, 50, LuVerne, was charged with possession of marijuana, possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine, possession of oxycodone, possession of alprazolam, possession of prescription drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia following an incident in the parking lot of 1010 S.E. National Drive.

May 1

Ruth L. Johnson, 47, Ankeny, was charged with fifth-degree theft following an incident that occurred in the 900 block of South Ankeny Boulevard.

May 3

Jessica N. Hastings, 23, Ankeny, was arrested on an outstanding warrant following a traffic stop that occurred in the 300 block of Southeast Oralabor Road.

Josie L. Silber, 18, Polk City, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia following an incident that occurred in the 900 block of South Ankeny Boulevard.

May 4

Mark D. Silver, 44, Ankeny, was arrested on an outstanding warrant following an incident in the 3100 block of Southeast Cherry Blossom Drive.

May 8

Aaron T. Barnett, 30, Ankeny, was charged with violating a no-contact order following an incident that occurred in the 200 block of Northeast Delaware Avenue.

Kristin A. Bernhardt, 26, Ankeny, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia following a traffic stop that occurred in the 100 block of Northeast Delaware Avenue.

Andrew A. Rusher, 25, Ankeny, was arrested on an outstanding warrant following a traffic stop that occurred near the intersection of Southwest Third and Elm streets.

May 10

Jacob E. Greene, 25, Des Moines, was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia following a traffic stop that occurred in the 200 block of Southeast Oralabor Road.
