Ankeny First United Methodist Church was the first church established in Ankeny. It hosts regular services, youth groups, family activities, youth groups, a preschool, Bible study groups, a music program and a variety of outreach and volunteer programs, including Habitat for Humanity, the Food Pantry ministry, Homeless Help ministry, Mission Malawi and Cedar Rapids Mission Trip. Bob and Martha Ward are the pastors and the church is also associated with The Faith Chapel and the Christian Life Center.
