Founded in 1910, the Ankeny Fire Department is a full-service emergency response agency. It provides fire suppression, rescue, emergency medical services, fire prevention and education, fire investigation and other related services to the residents, property owners and visitors of Ankeny. Department staff includes approximately 80 men and women who serve in full-time and paid-per-call capacities, as well as administrative staff. The fire department consists of three divisions: fire suppression, emergency medical services, and fire prevention.
