  • The at 5 p.m. at the Ankeny Library. The Teen Advisory Group meets on the third Thursday of the month is open to students in grades six through 12.  To join, students can fill out a T.A.G. application, get parental permission as well as attend and participate in T.A.G. meetings.

  • Kirkendall Public Library will hold its tonight at 6:30 pm. All adults who enjoy reading young adult or juvenile literature are welcome to attend and participate in discussing their favorite titles.

  • Want to discover how smart your child really is? Attend a special 6:30 p.m. class at the tonight called This class will be presented by Tonya Moffitt and Abby Clayton, and is appropriate for babies under one year old to preschool age as well as others who are interested. Learn the importance of early communication for parents and their children through the use of American Sign Language, as well as learn signs that follow your child's day and growth. No registration is required.

Tuesday

  • Are you a DMACC student with some health concerns? If so, nurse practitioner Ed Piasecki will be available from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Campus Health Office to see currently enrolled DMACC students for free to address their health concerns and needs. Appointments are needed for physicals and some fees may apply. Call 515-964-6352 to make an appointment.
  • The at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Wig & Pen Pizza Pub in Ankeny to plan the AYP's events for the next three months. Anyone is welcome to join this committee or take part in one of these meetings.

  • On Wednesday night, in Ankeny will hold its from 5-6:15 p.m. All are welcome to attend.

Thursday

  • On Thursday morning, take the little ones to Tot Time at the . Tot Time is a time set aside for kids and moms/caregivers to gather, play and get to know one another.  Tot Time is held in the library meeting room and begins at 10:15 a.m.
  • Did you take the Microsoft Word for Beginners class at earlier this month? If so, the library is offering an on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. Participants in this class will learn to insert pictures, text boxes and columns to create brochures and posters.

  • will kickoff its student play, “," at 7 p.m. tonight at the school. Two performances also will be held tomorrow at 2 and 7 p.m. The cost to attend the show is $3. Tickets may be purchased between 7:45-8:15 a.m. and 3-3:20 p.m. at the ACA office or in the lobby before the show.

Saturday

  • in Ankeny will host a special starting at 1:30 p.m. The event will feature a combination of American and Filipino cuisine, as well as a raffle, live music and dancing. The event will help raise funds for a church mission trip. Tickets are $25.

Sunday

  • Looking for a place to take the family for ? Well, brunch is back at Tin Cup Bar & Grill, located at in Ankeny. Brunch is held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and cost $10.95 per adult, $9.95 per senior and $4.95 for kids ages 4-10. Kids ages 3 and under eat free.

Week-Long Events

  • The Ankeny Art Center will continue its second exhibit in its K-12 Art Exhibition today with works of art by students from the School District. The exhibit will run through March 27. Bondurant, North Polk, and Ankeny Schools are all participating in the exhibition. The Ankeny Art Center’s K-12 exhibits are part of the facility's extended outreach programming, intended to introduce and familiarize students with the gallery setting.
  • Need help on your income taxes this year? is offering by appointment through April 13. Individuals can call 2-1-1 to schedule an appointment. DMACC accounting students who have been certified by the Internal Revenue Service will help prepare federal and Iowa individual income tax returns for qualified residents.
