You could find all these events in our events calendar, but we at Ankeny Patch thought we would make it easy for you by putting the highlights of this week all in one, convenient place.

  • On Monday, Kirkendall Public Library will hold an computer class at 2 p.m. Participants will learn how to set up a free Internet email account, send, forward, and receive email, add and open attachments and create an address book.  Registration is required, so see if there are any spots left by calling the library at 515-965-6460.
  • The Ankeny Garden Association will hold Monday night. The group is open to all Ankeny residents interested in landscaping and city beautification. Meetings are held the second Monday of each month at Kirkendall Public Library.
  • Do you have high schoolers at Ankeny Christian Academy? Monday night is secondary , an event just for parents and guardians of students. Parents will be given a schedule of their child's day, and then the parents will go from class to class through all eight periods. While in each class, the teacher will briefly explain what your child will be learning in that class and about classroom expectations.
  • On Tuesday, the will be held at the library from 1-2 p.m. The book featured in this discussion will be "No Impact Man" by Colin Beavan.
  • The Ankeny Young Professionals will be meeting Tuesday at to plan . Anyone is welcome to join this committee or take part in one of these meetings. If you would like additional information or have an idea for an upcoming event, please contact our events co-chairs at events@ankenyyoungprofessionals.org.
  • On Tuesday night, the library will host a special program called "".Rosa Snyder, "history detective" and former restoration painter, will divulge untold stories and reveal hidden treasures of Iowa's most recognized landmark. The event begins at 7 p.m.
  • New to the Ankeny Area Chamber of Commerce? Attend a new member orientation Wednesday at 12 p.m. at the Chamber office, located at 210 N. Ankeny Blvd. The orientation provides new members a chance to meet our ambassadors and receive information on Chamber involvement. Be sure to RSVP by emailing koakie@ankeny.org.
  • On Thursday morning, take the little ones to at the library. Tot Time is a time set aside for kids and moms/caregivers to gather, play and get to know one another.  Tot Time is held in the library meeting room and begins at 10:15 a.m.
  • Craving some ? The Ankeny Hawks varsity football team will travel tonight to take on Indianola on their home turf. Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m.
  • There's not much time left to get the best in local good and produce, available at the Saturday. The market runs from 8 a.m.-12 p.m. and is located at 702 SW 3rd St.
