  • The will meet tonight at 5 p.m. at . Interested in becoming involved? To join, fill out a T.A.G. application at the library, get parental permission, and attend and participate in T.A.G. meetings.
  • The will meet tonight at 6:30 p.m. at Kirkendall Public Library. All young adults are welcome to attend.
  • The Ankeny City Council at 5 p.m. All meetings are held at City Hall.
  • The Ankeny school board also . This will be the first meeting of the new board. All four new members will be sworn in.
  • Kirkendall Library will hold a class Tuesday called . Participants will learn tools and strategies for efficient Internet searching, as well as keyword searching, natural language searching, major search engines, directories and web portals. The class requires registration and begins at 2 p.m.
  • On Tuesday, all ages and skill levels are welcome at the library for a . Participants can bring a project in progress or beginners can learn the basics. Crocheters are also welcome. The class starts at 6:30 p.m. and there is no cost for attending; however, participants need to bring their own needles and materials for a project.
  • The Ankeny Area Democrats at at 7:30 p.m. This is the organization's monthly meeting and members will be planning events leading up to the 2012 election.
  • Take the kids to story time at the library Wednesday, held each morning during the week beginning at 9:15 a.m. Online pre-registration is required. Visit our events calendar for a full list of days and times, as well as find out how to register.
  • On Thursday morning, take the little ones to at the library. Tot Time is a time set aside for kids and moms/caregivers to gather, play and get to know one another.Β  Tot Time is held in the library meeting room and begins at 10:15 a.m.
  • The Ankeny Young Professionals at in Ankeny. The meeting begins at noon and members will discuss the AYP website, logo, branding, press coverage and marketing for specific events.
  • The AYP also will be hosting a Thursday for members of the Ankeny Area Chamber of Commerce. The event starts at 6 p.m. Spots are limited so contact the Chamber for tickets today. Tickets are $15.
  • Mark your calendars for one of the biggest garage sales in Ankeny! Starting Friday, Ankeny Christian Academy will hold its annual . For a complete round-up of times, what's happening at the sale and how to donate, .
  • It's homecoming for the Ankeny Hawks! On Friday night, . Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m. Will you be attending homecoming 2011?
  • The on Saturday at 9 a.m. at the Kirkendall Public Library. The meeting is open to everyone.
  • Kids are invited to Kirkendall Public Library Saturday for where they will meet L.B. the therapy dog. The event starts at 10 a.m. All kids are welcome to attend, but pre-registration at the children's desk is required.
  • The at Ankeny Christian Academy on Saturday night. The concert begins at 7 p.m. and is free to attend, although free-will donations will be accepted to benefit the school's PTF.
  • On Sunday, will be held at Otter Creek Golf Course in Ankeny. $65 will buy you 18 holes of golf and a cart to take your from tee to tee. The event begins at 10 a.m.
