Exploiting Google Computer Class

Sign up for this class hosted by Kirkendall Public Library. It will be held from 2-3 p.m. Monday. The class is designed for participants to learn some of the tricks and tools of this powerful search engine, including advanced search features, translation tools, dictionaries, and Google tools. This class is an excellent follow-up to the Search Engine Strategies class.

Registration is required, but the class is free. To sign up, call 965-6460, ext. 5.

Hawks Golf, JV Football Tonight in Waukee

The Ankeny Hawks boys golf teams, both JV and varsity, as well as the Jaguars JV team, all head to Waukee tonight. Teams tee off at 3:30 p.m. Also, the JV football team will be in Waukee to take on Dowling Catholic at 6 p.m. The game will be held at Waukee High School, 560 S.E. University Ave.

Teen Advisory Group Meets Tonight

The Teen Advisory Group will meet tonight at 5 p.m. at Kirkendall Public Library. The purpose of the Teen Advisory Group is to involve teens in the functioning of the library. The group is open to students in grades 6-12. To join, get parent permission and simply attend the meeting!

Enjoy Young Adult Literature?

Kirkendall Public Library will hold its YA & J Adult Book Group tonight at 6:30 pm. All adults who enjoy reading young adult or juvenile literature are welcome to attend and participate in discussing their favorite titles.

Ice Cream Social at Hillside Park

Ankeny Parks and Rec is hosting an ice cream social at Hillside Park Monday night from 5:30-7 p.m. The social provides an opportunity for Ankeny families to enjoy an evening at the park and get to know members of the Parks & Recreation board and staff. Games for kids will also be part of the evening’s festivities.

Hillside Park is located near Southeast 20th Street and Four Mile Drive.
