Ankeny Missed Out on the Worst of Storm's Wrath

City Public Works officials surveyed Ankeny today to assess damage from the band of severe thunderstorms that passed through the area overnight.

Although other nearby areas were , city crews did not observe any major damage in Ankeny, according to a press release issued by the city. There were many areas with downed tree branches, most one-inch in diameter or smaller.

Clean up of the debris will not be provided by the city, the release said. To aid in the disposal of storm debris, homeowners are encouraged to contact their solid-waste collection company and make arrangements for pick up.
