Miracle Madness Basketball, Bags Tournament Will Benefit Ankeny Miracle Park Project

The event will be held on June 22 and all proceeds will go to the All-Inclusive Playground & Miracle League of Ankeny.

From the city of Ankeny:

Spend a Saturday in Hawkeye Park at this year's Miracle Madness on Saturday, June 22, and have fun contributing to a local special needs project, the All-Inclusive Playground & Miracle League of Ankeny. This event includes a Sand Volleyball Tournament and Bags Tournament.

Sand Volleyball Tournament

This sand volleyball event is a 6x6 co-ed double elimination tournament. The tournament is for participants age 18 and older and each team must have three men and three women. Matches will begin at 12 noon at the sand volleyball courts on the south end of Hawkeye Park. Cost is $60 per team and teams must register by June 19

Bags Tournament

This popular tailgating game has expanded into leagues and tournaments for Ankeny Parks & Recreation. Teams of two will race/score to 21 points and play the best three out of five. Matches will begin at 12 noon near the concession stand at Hawkeye Park. Cost is $20 per team of two and teams must register by June 19

Ankeny Miracle Park

Proceeds from both the tournaments will go towards the Miracle League Field and All-Inclusive Playground project that will serve children with special needs. The Miracle League Field and All-Inclusive Playground will be co-located in Hawkeye Park and provide children with special needs and their families a non-competitive co-ed baseball league and a playground that focuses on maximum "play value". Nearly $1.1 million has been raised since January 2012 toward the $1.2 million goal. Thanks to our title sponsors, John Deere Des Moines Works and Karl Chevrolet. This is a collaborative partnership between the Ankeny Kiwanis Club and the City of Ankeny.
