Ankeny Sheriff's Clerk Charged with Felony Fraud

An Ankeny woman who works in the Polk County Sheriff's Office was arrested on a felony fraud charge Tuesday.

An Ankeny woman and Polk County Sheriff's office employee has been charged with felony fraud and forgery, according to multiple media outlets.

Kimberly Sapp, 43, of Ankeny, was charged with first-degree fraudulent practices, a Class C felony, and forgery affecting a will, deed, contract or legal relation, an aggravated misdemeanor. She was arrested Tuesday.

The charges had nothing to do with her civilian clerk position at the sheriff's office, according to a report in the Des Moines Register. The Iowa Department of Inspections and Appeals brought the charges.
