Police: Ankeny Man Pulls Gun in Fit of Road Rage

An Ankeny man has been charged with assault with a dangerous weapon for an incident that took place in a fast food parking lot in Des Moines.

An Ankeny man told police he pointed a gun at a car full of people in a Des Moines parking lot Sunday in a fit of anger spurred by road rage, the Des Moines Register reports.

Darrell M. Morris Jr., 36, was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon on Sunday and has since been released from the Polk County Jail.

Morris allegedly followed a man driving a car full of children into a fast food parking lot and got out of his car and started yelling at the other driver. Morris then reportedly went back to his own car and grabbed a gun and yelled some more before leaving the lot.
