Police: Man Caught With Meth and Prescription Drugs

An Urbandale man received a slew of drug charges in Ankeny recently.

Ankeny police said Lucas Bradley Lathrop, 23, possessed methamphetamine, methamphetamine precursors and more than 10 doses of clonazepam, according to complaints filed on Sept. 14.

Lathrop was charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of precursors, possession of a schedule IV drug, possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to affix a drug tax stamp.

Failure to affix a drug tax stamp is a Class D felony punishable by up to five years in prison. Lathrop received that charge for allegedly having more than 10 doses of clonazepam. Clonazepam is a medication prescribed to treat anxiety.

Lathrop was released from the Polk County Jail on Sept. 25.
