Police: Man Videotaped Minor Engaged in Sex Act

An Ankeny man has been accused of videotaping a minor engaged in a sex act or simulated sex act, police say.

A 54-year-old Ankeny man has been charged with sexual exploitation of a minor for allegedly videotaping a 17-year-old while engaged in a sexual or simulated sexual act, according to Ankeny police.

James Hill, of NW Greenwood Street, is accused of videotaping the minor in a private home.

Police said that Hill knew the person videotaped.

Sexual exploitation of a minor is a Class C felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison. Hill was arrested Sept. 11 and has since been released from the Polk County Jail.

Hill has entered a plea of not guilty and been ordered to stay away from people under the age of 18, court records show.
