USA Today Ranks Ankeny Preseason No. 1 in Iowa High School Football (But Forgets Centennial)
USA Today didn't include Ankeny Centennial, which is opening this fall. MaxPreps ranks Centennial, which will play under longtime Ankeny coach Jerry Pezzetti, at No. 251 in Iowa.
The defending state football champs Ankeny starts off the year as the preseason No. 1 team in Iowa, according to the USA Today Sports Super 25 rankings.
USA Today has rankings for all 50 states.
MaxPreps also ranks the maroon and gold No. 1 in Iowa.
