Martha Gray, 79, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 23, 2013, in her home surrounded by her family after a brave battle with cancer. Martha was born on November 3, 1933, in Des Moines, Iowa to Dr. George and Ola Rae (Cook) Marquis. She was a graduate of Roosevelt High School, attended Monmouth College where she was a Kappa Delta, and was a graduate of Broadlawns School of Nursing. 'Not a Funeral but a Celebration': Community Gathers to Say Farewell to Elizabeth Collins

Family, friends and the community gathered in Cedar Falls to celebrate the life and love of Elizabeth Collins, whose body was discovered with her cousin Lyric Cook-Morrissey after a search that lasted nearly five months.

Hope, not despair, was the theme of the night Thursday as the community gathered to bid farewell to one of its stolen children, Elizabeth Collins. Elizabeth, 8, was mourned not just by her family and friends, but by thousands of people who spent months searching and praying for her and her cousin, Lyric Cook-Morrissey, 10, after the two girls disappeared while riding their bikes one sunny July day. "It’s a celebration for her," Elizabeth's mother Heather Collins said as around 1,500 people filled Heartland Vineyard Church in Cedar Falls. Live Stream of Elizabeth Collins' 'Life and Love' Memorial Celebration

Elizabeth Collins and her cousin Lyric Cook-Morrissey, of Evansdale, went missing July 13. Their bodies were recently discovered. A 'Life and Love Celebration' and visitation will be held for Elizabeth tonight.

A "Life and Love" service in honor of Elizabeth Collins is taking place in Cedar Falls tonight. Collins, 8, and her cousin, Lyric Cook-Morrissey, 10, of Evansdale, disappeared while riding their bikes near Meyers Lake July 13. Their bodies were discovered in a wooded area of Bremer County last week. Heartland Vineyard Church, at 405 Greenhill Road, Cedar Falls, will have a visitation and service for Elizabeth tonight, Dec. 13. The visitation is 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., with the service to begin at 7 p.m. The church also plans to offer a live stream of the funeral on its website. Laughter, Tears Fill Funeral of Ankeny's Joe Tourte

Family, friends and Ankeny residents say goodbye to the 16-year-old Ankeny High School sophomore who passed away on Jan. 22.

Stories and secrets were shared during the emotional funeral of 16-year-old Joe Tourte on Friday. The Ankeny High School sophomore recently died from health complications while awaiting a heart transplant. Several hundred people filled the Ankeny First United Methodist Church, and an extra row had to be formed at the back of the building. Upon entering, mourners were greeted by a slideshow featuring images taken throughout Joe Tourte’s life. Joe as a baby (he weighed 8 lbs, 1 ½ oz.). Joe in a Superman costume. Joe underneath an igloo made from gallon milk jugs. Richard Blachford, Joe’s grandfather, spoke first during the service, sharing memories of his grandson.
