Director Leads Ankeny Chamber with Confidence
Julie Cooper says business is alive and well in Ankeny, and membership is growing.
In talking to Julie Cooper, you get the sense that she’s all business. That’s because Cooper, a Clinton native and executive director of the Ankeny Area Chamber of Commerce, has overseen operations and membership of the organization since 2002. During her tenure, membership has grown steadily each year and now includes almost 800 members. Ankeny Patch sat down with Cooper to find out the current state of business in Ankeny today. Ankeny Patch: What is the role of an executive director of the chamber? Julie Cooper: The executive director is responsible for the overall operation of the chamber.
