1) To Kill A Mockingbird Discussion at the Library The Book and Movie Discussion Group meets at 1 p.m. today at Kirkendall Public Library to receive To Kill a Mockingbird and decide future selections. On Oct. 2 the group will view the movie version of the book, which stars Gregory Peck. Books are provided by the library.  2) City Council Meeting The Ankeny City Council meets at 5 p.m. today in the council chambers at Ankeny City Hall. The meeting agenda includes publice hearings on special permits, Southwest Ash Drive water main improvements and the pavement preservation program. 1) Check Out the Ankeny Art Center's Newest Exhibit Head to the Ankeny Art Center today to see the Iowa Watercolor Society Annual Exhibition. This juried exhibition marks the Iowa Water Color Society’s 35th anniversary and showcases sixty-five outstanding original watercolor paintings chosen from 150 pieces by Iowa artists. This year, the IWS is excited to announce internationally renowned watercolorist Paul Jackson as the show’s juror and instructor.
