VIDEO: Michelle Obama Does the Interlude Dance With UNI Students at Des Moines Event
The UNI-born Interlude Dance has been performed at hundreds of sporting events around the country, by soldiers in Afghanistan, and now by the first lady. Obama spoke to about 10,000 Iowa schoolchildren today in Des Moines about fitness and healthy eating.
First Lady Michelle Obama danced the Interlude dance today, alongside University of Northern Iowa students, Iowa's Olympic gold medalist Shawn Johnson, Gov. Terry Branstad and 14,000 sixth- to ninth-grade students at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines. Click here to see Obama do the dance with its originators and schoolchildren, plus Gov. Terry Branstad and former governor and current U.S. Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack. She was in Des Moines promoting the second anniversary of her "Let's Move" campaign to fight childhood obesity.
