PHOTO GALLERY: Rain or Shine, the Car Show Must Go On

Despite a rainy start to the day, thousands of people Saturday still attended the Albaugh Classic car show in Ankeny.

It was a wet and soggy day for a car show, but that didn’t stop thousands of spectators from venturing out to see hundreds of the area’s classic cars. The third annual Albaugh Classic car show, which originally started in 2008, was held Saturday at Albaugh, Inc. in Ankeny. People trekked through the mud and rain to see 320 classic cars of all makes and models. Others came for the opportunity to see Dennis Albaugh’s personal collection of more than 145 classic Chevrolets. The show was sponsored by Karl Chevrolet of Ankeny. The Schares family of Waterloo was among those who attended the show.
