Firetrucker Will Turn Former Uptown Fire Station Into Microbrewery (Updated)

The company has also pledged to support the Ankeny Market Pavilion and sponsor live music on Saturday or Sunday afternoons at the Trailhead.

The Ankeny City Council accepted a proposal from Firetrucker LLC at its meeting last night, making room for the company to turn the former Ankeny fire station into a microbrewery.

The council unanimously accepted the offer to purchase the building, according to the Des Moines Register

The Ankeny City Council will hold a public hearing on the sale during council meeting Monday.

The company wants to buy the former fire station site at 716 SW Third Street and a portion of 206 SW Maple Street. The deal covers two buildings and about one fourth of an acre of land associated with the lot for the former VW Smith office/shop, according to agenda documents.

Firetrucker has also committed to future support of the Ankeny Market Pavilion, an annual Fire Department fundraiser, sponsorship of live music on Saturday or Sunday afternoons at the Trailhead and more.
