HIT THE HILLS!

According to On Fitness Magazine, hill running is a cardiovascular exercise that yields multiple benefits. Its rewards go beyond weight loss and good looks! A few reasons why you may want to implement this into your workout routine:

1. Vigorous cardiovascular exercise such as hill running can help ward off heart disease, shed pounds, create a youthful appearance, boost brain function and improve overall athletic capabilities.

2. It creates a total body workout. Boosting endurance, speed and power.
 
3. Running uphill will protect against stresses and strains, helping to avoid injury and set backs.

4. May help ward off those pesky headaches! According to a study published in the International Journal of Sports Medicine, subjects suffering from headaches reported about a 40% pain reduction after taking up a 10 week running program. The reason behind this shocking improvement deals with the hormonal environment running creates. This type of workout reduces stress hormones, including cortisol, which are the root causes of many headaches.
