Listen to 911 Call: Ankeny Mother Gives Birth in Bathroom of Her Home
It was an unexpected Mother's Day present for Rose Ayers, who delivered her fourth child in her bathroom at home with the help of her husband and a Polk County dispatcher.
Stormy Ayers was a little impatient to make her debut into the world.
On Mother's Day, Rose Ayers of Ankeny gave birth to her fourth child, Stormy, in the master bathroom of her home, according to KCCI Channel 8.
“It went from mild contractions to ‘I am feeling this baby,’ and it is coming very fast,” Rose told the television station.
Polk County dispatcher Thomas Heckler helped father Kenny Ayers with the delivery. Stormy weighed 6 pounds 6 ounces and was 19 inches long.
“She came out like a storm with a vengeance,” Rose told KCCI.
