Police: Ankeny Man Possessed 'Huge Amount' of Child Pornography

The suspect is facing charges for multiple sex crimes after police confiscated his home computer.

An Ankeny man is facing charges for multiple sex crimes after police confiscated his home computer and allegedly found more than a terabyte of videos and photos believed to be child pornography.

According to the Des Moines Register, Paul Hildreth, 48, was arrested Tuesday and charged with two counts of sexual exploitation of a minor.

Agents from the Iowa Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force executed a search warrant for Hildreth’s Ankeny home, the Pleasant Hill Police Department told the newspaper.

“It was a huge amount,” Pleasant Hill police spokesman Officer Adam Choat told the Register.

Police released information about the case so that if any local children were victims of the suspect, they would come forward so additional charges could be filed.

Hildreth was released from the Polk County Jail on Thursday after posting $60,000 bond, the article said.
