1) School Board, City Council Meet Tonight

Both the Ankeny City Council and the Ankeny school board will meet in regular session tonight. The school board will meet at the at 5 p.m. and the council meet at at 5:30 p.m. Agendas can be found here and here, respectively.

2) 'Babies Chatter, Too' is Back at the Library

Want to discover how smart your child really is? Attend a special 6:30 p.m. class at the tonight called This class will be presented by Tonya Moffitt and Abby Clayton, and is appropriate for babies under one year old to preschool age as well as others who are interested. Learn the importance of early communication for parents and their children through the use of American Sign Language, as well as learn signs that follow your child's day and growth. No registration is required.

Join Ankeny certified Tai Chi instructors Deanna, Kim and Lisa for practice today at Ankeny's Sawgrass Park, located at the intersection of Southwest 36th and Beechwood streets. Practice starts at 7 p.m. and anyone is welcome to attend and stay as long as they want.

The event will be canceled if it rains.

4) On Deck for Tomorrow

is back at ! When mapping out tomorrow's itinerary with the kids, be sure to include a 1 p.m. stop at the library to let the little ones participate in a quick craft with others.

5) The Weather

Today should be mainly sunny with a few passing clouds. Expect the high temperature to be near 87 degrees. Tonight we should see clear skies and an overnight low near 59 degrees.
